2006 désir

View Body of Work

Désir explores images of landscape and cityscape, and addresses the fragile desire for home and shelter.  The architectural grid underlying the structure of our urban reality is seen as an extension of patterns in nature, resulting in an ambiguous melding of the two.  Landscape – environmental and urban – is both romantic or distressed, actual or imagined, inhabited or empty. The desire for a place called home is ambiguous as well, and sways between longing and fulfillment.
