Broken Landscapes
Broken Landscapes addresses the images of landscape and cityscape through ambiguous viewpoints. The images allude to the anonymity of today’s urban life, alienation from ancestral homeland being a common and universal denominator. In a world where a contemporary norm is one of dislocation and displacement, the imagery is a soliloquy to this search for home. The image of urbanity is one that can be understood as allegorical – landscape and cityscape seen as mirrors of each other, and cultural differences being lost in a world where cultural sampling in becoming increasingly the norm.
